Professional Development

Annual conferences and frequent workshops address your needs as a professional working with young children. Formal presentations and informal networking, valuable workshops, and educational exhibits provide you with new ideas and contacts. Attendance at local, state, Midwest and National AEYC conferences keeps you up-to-date. Through association publications and conferences, you gain knowledge and skills that enhance your potential for employment and promotion.

Note: Beginning in January 2012, new and renewing members can choose to receive five issues of either Young Children or Teaching Young Children (English or Spanish.) In addition to receiving your choice of periodical, all members will find an enhanced member area on the NAEYC website that will house the digital version of Young Children and provide exclusive access to articles, professional development resources, and researched-based information on a variety of current and classic early childhood topics.

Young Children

Young Children is a peer-reviewed, professional journal published by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Young Children issues are organized around topical clusters that devote special attention to issues in the field of early childhood education.

Teaching Young Children
